گاو هایلند | Highland Cattle

اروپایی‌ها توی عکس و فیلمایی که من از ایران ازشون می‌دیدیم، خیلی شیک‌تر و خوشتیپ‌تر و با کلاس‌تر از اون چیزی که در واقعیّت هستند، به نظر میومدن! نمی‌دونم سر چشمه‌ی این تفکر از کجا میومد، ولی حدس می‌زنم دلیلش این باشه که، چند صد ساله همه‌ی چیزای خوب و جدید و هیجان انگیز از غرب اومده به شرق! هنوز هم همینطوره! پس لابد آدماش هم به همون اندازه، باید آدم‌های بهتری باشن...

Europeans in photos and movies that I’d seen of them from back in Iran, looked way chicer, much more handsome, and high-class than what they actually are, in reality! I don’t know where this notion came from, but I guess the reason is that, isn’t been centuries that all the exciting, new and good stuff have come from West to East! It’s still the same! So probably the people should be equally better people, as well!

ولی خب، از نزدیک این جوری نیست. حداقّل می‌تونم بگم، از یه جایی به بعد دیگه اینجوری نیست! الآن آدمای مو بِلُنْد و سرخ و سفید اروپایی هم مثل آدمای مو سیاه قاره‌ی خودمون آسیا، به چشمم خیلی آشنا و عادی شدن! هیچ نژادی واسم نسبت به نژاد دیگه‌ای برتر نیست، حتّی ظاهری!

But, well… it’s not like that from up close. At least It’s not like that from some point on, I can say. Now, blond, white and red Europeans, look so familiar and typical to my eyes, just like black-haired people of our own continent, Asia. It’s been long that, no race is superior to the other, even apparently, to me!

در حدّی که وقتی تو خیابون یه آدم کلّه بلوند می‌بینم، می‌تونم در مورد شخصیّت، علایق، تحصیلات، خانواده و کلاً لاف‌استایلش یه حدسایی بزنم! کاری که قبلاً نمی‌تونستم انجام بدم! جدیداً این قضیه رو توی شهر کازماپولیتنی مثل گوتنبرگ می‌تونم به تمام رنگ‌ها و ملیّت‌های دیگه تامیم بدم و هر شخصی رو یه جایی از این کرّه‌ی خاکی تصور کنم. مثلاً قبلاً همه‌ی سیاها واسم سیاه بودن، الآن سیاهای سومالی و نیجریه و اریتره واسم با هم فرق دارن. و‌ هر چی بیشتر فرق آدمارو با هم می‌فهمم، شباهات‌هاشون واسم پر رنگ‌تر می‌شه.

Insofar as, when I see a blond-headed person in the street, I can make some guesses about their personality, interests, education, family and generally their lifestyle. Something that I was not able to do before. Recently, in a cosmopolitan city like Gothenburg, I can generalize that to all the colors and nationalities, and imagine each person somewhere on this planet Earth. For instance, all the “black” where just black to me, now the “black” from Somalia, Nigeria and Eritrea differ to me! And the more I realize the difference between people, the more their similarities become bolder, to me!

تناقض شیرینی که توی این تفاوت‌ها هست، با یه مهندسی معکوس ساده و فلش بک زدن به قبل از زمانی که «اروپا» و «آسیا» معنی داشت، به یه هارمونی و حس مشترک تبدیل می‌شده و دیگه‌ چاره‌ای واسم نمیمونه جز اینکه به همشون به چشم یه «گونه‌ی جانوری» به نام «انسان» نگاه کنم! درست مثل وقتی از «گاو» حرف می‌زنیم! دوباره از سادگی، به پیچیدگی، و نزول به سادگی دوّم!

The sweet contradiction existing in these differences, with a simple reverse engineering and a flashback to before “Europe” and “Asia” carried out any meaning, turns into a harmony and a mutual common sense and leaves me with no choice but to look at them all as “one species” called “Human”. Just like when we talk about “cows”. Again from simplicity, to complexity and descending to the second simplicity.

سادگی یعنی برای کسی که هنوز با «گاو هایلند» آشنا نشده، فرقی نداره رنگ و مدل موی «گاو» چی باشه! گاو، گاوه! پیچیدگی یعنی وقتی با انواع گاو آشنا میشی، تفاوت‌هاشون رو می‌بینی! ‌و سادگی دوم یعنی وقتی همه‌ مدل گاو رو شناختی، دوباره گاو واست میشه همون گاو اول!

The first simplicity means, for one who hasn’t become familiar with “Highland Cow”, doesn’t really matter what color or style the Cow’s hair is, “Cow” is just “Cow”! Complexity means, when you become familiar with all kinds of Cows, you see the differences, and when you become familiar with all types of cows again “Cow” becomes the first “Cow”!

سادگی! Simplicity
